Playing the Game

To play Saga Machine you will need a group of friends, writing utensils, a few ten-sided dice (d10’s) and at least one deck of playing cards.

Play is designed to take place in one or more game sessions. A few hours one evening for a session should suffice.

Always Round Down

Saga Machine only uses whole numbers. If you ever encounter a fraction during the game, always round down.

Units of Measurement

When presenting units of measurement, we give the SI measure, followed by the US standard approximation in parentheses. For example: 0ºC (32ºF). The one exception is the SI meter, which is very similar to the US yard. For brevity, we simply state “meter.” The reader can treat any number of meters as the same number of yards without too much inaccuracy.
